Preston Beery, a junior at Faith Lutheran High in Nevada, won the boys elite shot put with a sixth-round mark of 58-4 (17.78m) at the 83rd Chandler Rotary Invitational at Chandler High's Austin Field in Arizona. Beery also placed second in the elite discus throw with a personal-best 160-10 (49.20m).
