Preston Beery, a senior at Faith Lutheran High in Nevada, took third in the invitational boys shot put with a fifth-round mark of 60-3.50 (18.37m) at the 56th Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High in California. Beery added an eighth-place effort in the invitational discus throw with an opening-round performance of 179 feet (54.55m).
